My Brickell

Miami's first post-recession condo. Designed by Karim Rashid, drenched in color, and completely unlike anything else in Brickell. You'll either love it or hate it

The Rundown

My Brickell is one of the most eccentric buildings in all of Brickell. A 28-story, 192-unit tower built in 2014 by Related Group, it holds the distinction of being the first condo to break ground in downtown Miami after the 2008 financial crisis brought all construction to a halt. The building is physically attached to 500 Brickell and connected by a skywalk so residents can access parking (My Brickell has no parking of its own). The interiors and common areas were designed by Karim Rashid, the legendary industrial designer and artist, and it shows. Think bright neon colors, wild textures, eccentric lighting, and 2000s pop art energy in every common space. It is not subtle. The units themselves are smaller than average with small balconies and European-style kitchens that prioritize style over storage. Some units still have the original Berber carpeting, which is a choice in Miami in 2026. The rooftop pool has great views of the Brickell skyline and sunsets, but the units themselves are hemmed in on all sides, so you're mostly looking at your neighbors. The value proposition is real though. You get a Brickell address, great walkability, the Metromover right there, and Brickell City Centre a short walk away, all at a price point below most of the neighborhood.

The Verdict
Chris's Final Take
★★★★★2.5 / 5

My Brickell is the most eccentric building in Brickell, and that's either its biggest selling point or its biggest drawback depending on who you are. The Karim Rashid interiors are genuinely unlike anything else in the neighborhood. The location is excellent with the Metromover right there and Brickell City Centre a short walk away. The value proposition is real: you get a Brickell address at a price point that undercuts most of the competition. But the units are small, the views are limited, the original finishes were mid-tier at best, and you have no parking of your own. It's a 2.5-star building that works really well for a specific type of buyer or renter: someone who values location and affordability, doesn't need a lot of space, and either loves the bold design or can look past it. If that's you, My Brickell delivers. If you want a building that feels polished and premium from the moment you walk in, this is not it.

Ask Chris AI about My Brickell

Who Lives Here

My Brickell attracts younger professionals, first-time buyers, and people who want a convenient Brickell location without the price tag or the scene of buildings like Icon Brickell or SLS Lux. This is not the flash-and-glamour crowd. It's people who prioritize location and value over brand name. You'll find a mix of renters and owners, some remote workers who love the walkability, and people who genuinely appreciate the Karim Rashid design (they exist, and they're passionate about it). If you want a building that blends into the background, this is not it. But if you want a building that's under the radar in terms of hype while being impossible to ignore visually, My Brickell is that building.

What's Changing

My Brickell is already hemmed in by taller buildings on most sides, so the view situation is unlikely to improve. The broader Brickell area continues to add new towers, which will only increase density around the building. The 500 Brickell parking garage that My Brickell depends on is shared infrastructure, so any changes to that arrangement would be significant. The building itself is only about 12 years old, so major structural concerns are not imminent, but the common areas and Karim Rashid design elements will eventually need refreshing.
